Our multilingual staff supports EAL students, helping them thrive in English, Polish and French. For those whose first language is Polish, tailored assistance is provided, while students who do not speak Polish have the opportunity to learn it. English
From the start, students are immersed in an English-speaking environment where all subjects are taught by British-qualified, first-language English teachers. With engaging activities, personalised assessments and tailored EAL support, students build fluency and confidence, reaching at least B2 level English by the end of their journey, ready for global opportunities.
Polish
From Year 1, students have five weekly Polish lessons, either as a Foreign Language or First Language, based on their background. Delivered by our expert Polish Department, these lessons support language development and cultural identity. All other subjects are taught in English, ensuring full immersion.
French
Starting in Year 4, students lead their learning journey in French as a Modern Foreign Language, with the programme continuing through to Year 9. Taught by experienced language teachers, these lessons foster language acquisition and cultural understanding, while all other subjects are taught in English, supporting their language development.
Students at our international school in Poland benefit from interactive language tools and digital platforms that boost fluency at every level. The multilingual library encourages students to explore the target languages, while project-based learning, storytelling videos or bilingual presentations promotes practical use. Language assessments aligned with the CEFR provide tailored support for each student's progress.
At BSW in Warsaw, students are supported through our English as an Additional Language (EAL) programme, led by three specialist teachers. Working in small groups of up to five, students focus on building the skills needed to thrive in the mainstream classroom and fully access the curriculum. Their progress is regularly reviewed to ensure success.
